There's no denying that the new Threads app is quickly gaining popularity.
Many users decided to flock to the new social media platform after Elon Musk announced new access limitations for Twitter.
Although Threads is a good app, some users are asking how they can delete their accounts without affecting their Instagram profiles.
Because of this, Meta decided to work on a new delete feature that will allow users to delete Threads separately.
New Threads Delete Feature to Arrive
According to 9To5Mac's latest report, Meta made it very easy for users to create their Threads accounts.
All they need to do is use their Instagram account to create their Threads profiles, which only takes a few seconds.
However, it seems like the tech firm forgot to include a delete feature allowing users to remove threads separately without affecting their IG accounts.
As of writing, Meta provides numerous options that will allow users to hide their Threads profiles. These include the following:
- Delete individual threads
- Deactivate Threads account
- Make the Threads account private
But, some users still want to have the capability to completely delete their Threads accounts without affecting their Instagram profiles.
Because of this, Instagram Head Mosseri confirmed that they are working on a new feature to make this possible.

Deleting Threads Account Separately Will Soon Be Possible
In his official Threads announcement, Mosseri said they are receiving many questions regarding how to delete Threads separately.
"I've been getting some questions about deleting your account," said the Instagram leader.
Adam explained that Instagram powers Threads. Because of this, deleting Threads accounts without affecting IG profiles is still impossible.
But Mosseri said that they are already working on a new functionality to solve this problem.
As of press time, Meta hasn't announced the exact release date of the new Threads delete feature.
The status of the development is also still unknown. As a user, the best thing you can do is wait for the company's official announcements.
While other users ask for a new delete feature, some want to see in-app enhancements, such as a "trending tab."
Since Threads is a young social media platform, it's best to wait for the enhancements since they could take longer.
