‘Entourage’ Movie: Kid Cudi Cast as Ari Gold’s New Assistant

Hip-hop artist Kid Cudi has been cast to play the new Lloyd, Ari Gold's assistant in the movie version of HBO's "Entourage," Deadline reports. On the series, Lloyd (played by Rex Lee) was Ari's assistant but eventually quit.

The two had a very complicated relationship. While Lloyd was extremely loyal to his boss, Ari often verbally attacked him. Cudi will play the guy who eventually takes Lloyd's place. Also starring in the movie is Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara and Jeremy Piven.

"Entourage" ran for eight seasons on HBO, ending in 2011. The 30-year-old, known for his hip-hop music and breakout song "Day 'n Nite," has been making a transition into action. He can also been seen in the upcoming movie "Need for Speed" opposite Aaron Paul.

Paul, plays a street racer named Toney Marshall, who gets sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Once released, he decides to get revenge on the man who help put him behind bars. Dominic Cooper plays the guy Tobey is after and Kid Cudi is one his friends.

In November, Cudi spoke to Music Connection about his upcoming album "Man on the Moon 3," which is expected to be released next year. Cudi said it will be the final installment and hopefully fans will be able to see how's he's grown as a man and an artist.

"You'll see it coming from a person who is looking at things from a more mature mindset, with more understanding and growth. I want people to be able to put this album on at different points in their lives and grow with me. This series was meant to show me grow as a man and it would not be right to do 'MOTM III' and have me talking about driving drunk," he said.
