Authorities say Gigi Hadid was detained in the Cayman Islands last week on suspicion of marijuana possession.
Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control stated that Hadid, identified by authorities as Jelena Noura Hadid, and her companion, influencer Leah Nicole McCarthy, were apprehended on July 10 for the importation of marijuana and paraphernalia.
Gigi Hadid Arrested in Cayman Islands
The duo, "who arrived on a private aircraft from the United States to the Cayman Islands," were arrested after a search of their luggage uncovered a minor quantity of marijuana, according to the islands' border authorities.
According to MailOnline, Hadid was released on parole pending prosecution and pleaded guilty in Summary Court on July 12, two days after landing. According to reports, she has no convictions, but she was fined $1,000.
A representative for Hadid told CBS News that the 28-year-old was traveling with marijuana purchased legally in New York City with a valid medical license. Both women were released on bond after their detention at Owen Roberts International Airport, according to the local publication Cayman Marl Road.

Gigi Hadid Unbothered With Reports
In the week following her arrest, Hadid posted several Instagram photos of her savoring the shore and ocean. She captioned a photo she uploaded on Tuesday, "All ends well."
The model shared some breathtaking vacation photographs from her journey to the Cayman Islands, where she had previously teased her admirers with a fake dragon tattoo.

Since 2017, it has also been lawful for medical use in Grand Cayman. Her record is spotless, and she thoroughly relished the remainder of her time on the island, as per Metro.
