According to NBC News, Rose was being chased by around 20 police officers who were armed. The Black man said that they were pointing their guns directly at his truck. He was able to call 911 dispatchers during the chase and made at least two calls.

"So now I'm trying to figure out why they got their guns all pointed at me and they're all white people," said Jadarrius to a Pickaway County dispatcher.

Based on the incident report from the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the Black man was being apprehended because his semi-truck was missing a left rear mud flap.

After the lengthy chase, police officers and vehicles were able to stop the man's truck and surrounded him. This is where things got worse.

BBC reported that the incident was recorded by the bodycam and dashcam worn by the police officers. After cornering Rose, one of them can be heard ordering the man to get on the ground or he'll get bitten by the dog.

Meanwhile, another cop said to the police dog handler not to release the dog since Rose's already had his hands up. Unfortunately, the K9 handler still decided to release the police dog.

The dog's handler was identified to be R. Speakman; a Circleville police officer. After Speakman instructed his dog to attack the Black guy, a bodycam video showed that the K9 mauled Jadarrius.

Mr. Rose can be heard screaming loudly as the dog pulls his arm and continues to bite him.
Circleville Mayor McIlroy said that he doubts that Speakman was wearing his bodycam during the dog attack.

As of writing, the police officer was placed on paid administrative leave for five days.
The Circleville Police Department announced that a use of force review board is already investigating the dog attack.

Findings are expected to be released before July ends.
