A TikTok video went viral after two women were seen arguing while the credits for Greta Gerwig's film "Barbie" were rolling in an unspecified movie theater in Brazil.
According to people familiar with the matter, the altercation happened after someone in the theater was allegedly letting her child watch YouTube videos on a phone on maximum volume during the movie.
Once the film was done, a woman approached another woman and shoved her to the floor. A man could be seen attempting to separate the women, and moments later, the altercation stopped.
However, it was unclear which of the women were complaining about the matter.
Social Media Users Chime In
As a result, social media users gave their two cents' worth on the matter.
"People should really understand that watching mobile during a movie that you paid to watch can cause [a] disturbance and divert attention, so that is why it is always advised to switch it off or keep it on silent," one user wrote on Twitter.
"I mean that's pretty selfish, like why go to a movie just for your kid to be bothering the other people in the theater?" another said.
Such incidents were not isolated.
Police released a video from an AMC movie theater in Pompano Beach, Florida earlier this month which showed a suspect who is currently on the run shoving a 63-year-old man into a railing and assaulting him while pinned to the ground. The altercation was sparked when the suspect was asked by the victim to switch seats as the latter person was the one assigned to it.
In May, adults were also caught in an altercation during the showing of Disney's live-action adaptation of "The Little Mermaid," Dexerto reported.
