A Miami music festival led to the death of a 23-year-old student, who was studying at Clemson University. The man died after attending the popular Rolling Loud hip-hop music fest in Miami on Saturday, July 22.
Miami Music Festival Leads to Student's Death
According to Fox News, the student who died is Jordan Petrocchi. As of writing, authorities are already investigating the death.
Since no signs of trauma were found, the cause of Jordan's sudden death is still unknown.
But, answers are expected to be released once his toxicology results come out.
USA Today reported that the student was taken to the Jackson Memorial Hospital after attending the Rolling Loud Festival, which specifically took place at the Hard Rock Stadium northwest of Miami.
Representatives of the music event said that there were no signs of drugs, fights, or heat-related illnesses when Jordan died.
Aside from these, Rolling Loud organizers didn't share any comment about the incident. When the Clemson student died, organizers warned attendees to make sure that they carry water to stay hydrated.
On July 22, the weather in Miami reached 97 degrees, as confirmed by the National Weather Service. But, it is still too early to conclude that the extremely high temperature was the cause of the death of Jordan.
Helping Jordan's Family
To help Jordan's family with the funeral, the student's good friends decided to launch a GoFundMe to ask for donations.
The GoFundMe campaign was created by Brandon Black and Jackson Kroger on behalf of Bethany Dawson.
"Jordan was a bright and ambitious student at Clemson University, set to graduate this August," said Jordan's friends.
"He had a promising future ahead of him and brought joy to everyone he met," they added. According to Jackson and Brandon, their friend never failed to lift the spirits of the people around him.
They said that Jordan is always there to lend a helping hand or just to simply brighten up the mood with his laughter.
"Jordan had an undeniable impact on all of our lives," they shared.
Jackson and Brandon said that they are reaching out to the community for help on behalf of Jordan's mother.
Right now, Bethany Dawson is overseeing the withdrawal and management of the funds garnered from the GoFundMe campaign.
