According to USA Today's latest report, the Pew Research Center poll involved over 7.000 Asian Americans, including Chinese Americans.

The survey was conducted between July 2022 to January 2023. The American think tank highlighted the views of Asian Americans located in seven different countries.

These include Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, Japan, Korea, India, and China.

Based on their findings, only four out of ten Chinese Americans favor mainland China. Meanwhile, only 14% of other Asian Americans see the country positively.

Karthick Ramakrishnan, the director and founder of policy research hub AAPI Data, said that the findings of the Pew survey are not surprising at all.

Ramakrishnan explained that this is because most Asian Americans (around 60% of them) are foreign-born. Because of this, the AAPI Data founder said that Asian Americans who come from authoritarian regimes tend to leave for a reason.
