A Taco Bell customer was disappointed with his Mexican Pizza.

Taco Bell is facing a class-action lawsuit alleging that the fast food chain is falsely advertising the amount of filling in its Mexican Pizzas and Crunchwraps.

Taco Bell, the beloved fast-food giant known for its mouthwatering Mexican-inspired delicacies, finds itself in a hot sauce of trouble. The fast-food titan faces a lawsuit over its signature items - Mexican Pizzas and Crunchwraps.

According to Reuters, a Taco Bell customer Frank Siragusa was dissatisfied with his Mexican Pizza, which he ordered for $5.49 at a New York City branch in September last year. He claims that his order only included half beef and bean filling compared to the advertising photos of the giant chain.

The proposed class action suit, filed in Brooklyn federal court, claims that Taco Bell's advertising makes it seem like the Mexican Pizza, Crunchwrap, and other menu items are filled with more ingredients than they are.

The lawsuit specifically accused Taco Bell of falsely advertising the filling of its Crunchwrap Supreme, Vegan Crunchwrap, Grande Crunchwrap, Veggie Mexican Pizza, and Mexican Pizza. The proposed class action further claims that the ads show "at least double" the ingredients.

The complaint asserts that the chain's ads are "unfair and financially damaging to customers." The suit further stressed that it is "especially concerning now that inflation, food, and meat prices are very high and many consumers, especially lower-income consumers, are struggling financially."

The Taco Bell customer attached marketing photos of the menu, boasting beef, cheese, and bright red and green veggie fillings in the complaint. For comparison, he also included what he claims to be the "actual" photos of the food, which consumers shared on social media.

Lawsuits Against McDonald's, Wendy's, and Burger King

It is not the first instance Siragusa's attorney took a giant fast food chain to court. Forbes reports that one of his lawyers still has a pending case against McDonald's and Wendy's, filed in 2022. Much like Taco Bell's case, the suit accuses the two joints of the size of their burgers in their advertisements.

The Taco Bell customer's other lawyer sued Burger King for the same issue.

As per Newsweek, the new proposed class action is seeking a whopping $5 million for Taco Bell customers who have ordered the five menu items in New York for the past three years. The giant chain has yet to respond to the complaint.
