According to USA Today's latest report, a skyscraper in central Moscow suffered from a drone attack from Ukraine. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin said that the incident happened on Tuesday, Aug. 1.

Although the Ukrainian government didn't address the incident, Russian officials said that Kyiv is responsible for the drone attacks.

They explained that Ukraine is conducting these drone assaults because their counteroffensive to recapture Russian-occupied territory fails.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the Moscow City district is like Lower Manhattan because it is a civilian site hosting residential buildings and offices.
She explained that these places have nothing to do with the military.

Because of this, she claimed that the Ukrainian drone attack on Moscow's financial district is similar to the terrorist attack that happened on September 11, 2001, which killed thousands of Americans in the U.S.

"The 9/11 attack on the Twin Towers caused an enormous number of casualties, but the methods were the same," she explained.

"We are seeing the same picture now as if it is repeating itself," the Russian official added.

Yahoo News reported that the drone attack in Moscow caused no deaths. When it comes to damage, Mayor Sobyanin confirmed that the facade of the affected skyscraper was destroyed.

Authorities also said that there were no injuries after the drone attack.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that drone attacks are natural, inevitable, and absolutely fair to bring the war to Russian territory.

His presidential adviser, Mykhailo Podolyak, also discussed the drone attacks in Russia. He said that Moscow is getting used to a full-fledged war, which will soon move to Russia's territories to collect all their debts.
