According to Fox News' latest report, the Tesla was severely damaged when the Santa Rosa Police Department arrived at the scene.

Authorities said that the electric car collided with a nearby utility pole near King and Howard Streets. A group of teenagers was seen in the area. Luckily, all of them didn't suffer from major injuries; only minor ones.

Thanks to this, they still had the strength to get out of the vehicle and walk away from the damaged Tesla.

"After speaking with the juveniles, it appears a 13-year-old female had been driving her parents' Tesla without permission," said the Santa Rosa Police Department via its official Facebook announcement.

In the comment section, many people said that the parents of the Tesla driver should be responsible for the accident. Some Facebook users even said that the parents should pay for the damages caused by their daughter.

The Santa Rosa Police Department said that the 13-year-old driver lost control on King Street after hitting a dip in the road.

Based on the teenage group's statements, the girl lost even more control over the electric vehicle. Because of this, they hit three parked vehicles, a street sign, and a utility pole.

Police authorities notified the juveniles' parents as soon as possible. They are still conducting an investigation to see if the teenagers were drinking alcohol before the accident.

They are also trying to identify if there are other factors or persons involved in the accident.

"G&E responded to the area to inspect the utility pole and as of this press release, there was no indication that residents in the area lost power," said the Santa Rosa Police Department.
