Lizzo Lawsuit Timeline

Lizzo's former dancers officially filed the lawsuit in Los Angeles. The legal action includes incidents that mostly happened in early 2023. Aside from Lizzo, the lawsuit accuses dance captain Shirlene Quigley, claiming that the woman pressures her dancers on religious matters.
Meanwhile, the legal action accuses Lizzo of pressuring a dancer to touch a nude performer at an after-party. Aside from these allegations, the lawsuit also claims that Lizzo and her company have unfair hiring, racially biased attitudes, and make weight-shaming comments.

On this day, other people who worked with the American singer decided to share their experiences to support the former dancers. These include Director Sophia Nahli Allison, who claims that Lizzo called her arrogant, unkind, and self-centered in 2019.
Aside from her, dancer Courtney Hollinquest also posted on her Instagram stories. She said that although she is not part of the lawsuit, the allegations are exactly what she experienced when she was working with Lizzo.

Since the allegations and testimonies of her former colleagues are becoming serious, Lizzo decided to respond. She denied the accusations, saying that they are false and too outrageous not to be addressed. Of course, the former dancers were disappointed about Lizzo denying the allegations.
"Lizzo has failed her own brand and has let down her fans. Her denial of this reprehensible behavior only adds to our client's emotional distress," they said.
As of writing, the former dancers are still continuing the lawsuit against the American singer.
