Patriot Front members say that a leftist activist infiltrated their group and made their affiliation with the racist organization public in a federal lawsuit they filed against him.
The lawsuit asserts that the four plaintiffs' jobs, salaries, and relationships with family members were damaged as a result of the activist's "doxxing" of them as Patriot Front members, according to USA Today.
The action was brought by a Spokane law firm in federal court in the Western District of Washington, and it represents a novel new strategy used by Patriot Front members.
The Texas-based group has become well-known for organizing marches that feature dozens of young men in masks carrying American flags and chanting slogans while wearing chinos. When police stopped a U-Haul carrying 31 Patriot Front members Lin 2022, they discovered that they were reportedly on their way to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to disrupt a Pride celebration. They were accused of planning a disturbance.
The Lawsuit
David Capito, an activist who they claim infiltrated Patriot Front in 2021 and briefly served as the group's photographer, is being sued in late June for damages. The case, however, also has another goal in mind: "At a deeper level, this complaint seeks to vindicate the rule of law and basic principles of free expression for persons who espouse unpopular opinions," according to the statement.
According to the lawsuit, Capito joined Patriot Front under a false name and gained access to the organization's computer databases to get sensitive data, which he then disseminated to allies and hackers.
The Patriot Front: Who Are They?
The Patriot Front is committed to "a hard reset on the nation we see today - a return to the traditions and virtues of our forefathers."
The organization is described as a white supremacist one by the Anti-Defamation League, which claims that it "justifies its ideology of hate and intolerance under the guise of preserving the ethnic and cultural origins of its members' European ancestors." Members of the organization are primarily involved in disseminating propaganda in the form of flyers, banners, and stickers across the nation.
The group has been active in a number of states across the United States, including Texas, Florida, and Washington. They have been known to distribute propaganda flyers, hold rallies, and participate in protests.
In recent years, Patriot Front has become increasingly active in the United States. In 2022, the group was responsible for a number of high-profile incidents, including the distribution of flyers in cities across the country and the arrest of several members in Idaho.
The group's activities have been met with widespread condemnation. The Anti-Defamation League has designated Patriot Front as a hate group, and the Southern Poverty Law Center has listed the group as a "white nationalist hate group."
