Texas Woman Attacked By Hawk and Snake
According to CBS News, it was an ordinary day for Peggy Jones as she set out to tackle her lawn chores, armed with determination and her trusty gardening tools. Little did she know, however, that Mother Nature had something extraordinary in store for her.

The Texas woman had an unexpected encounter with nature while doing yard work. She was injured after a hawk dropped a snake on her. As Jones attempted to shake the snake off, it held on to her arms much tighter. As per Insider, it also started attacking her face. While she was trying to get rid of the snake, the hawk swooped down and attacked her as it tried to claw the snake.
Amid all the terrifying showdown, she kept saying, "Help me, Jesus, Help me, Jesus."
Insider notes that hawks target smaller mammals, such as mice and squirrels. But in some instances, birds of prey also eat snakes. Notably, the red-tailed hawk mastered the art of hunting snakes, including the venomous ones.
Victim Sustained Injuries From the Unexpected Wildlife Attack
The woman says that the hawk had to snoop in for four attempts before successfully clawing the snake, pulling it away from her. By then, blood had already covered her body, and her arms "[were] pretty [torn] up." She believes that "venom" flooded her damaged eyeglasses as the snake tried to attack her face.
According to BBC's report, she says that the attack left "puncture wounds, cuts, abrasions, scratches, and severe bruising."
She also states that the unexpected interplay between the hawk and snake was severely traumatic for her. During the incident, she seriously thought that she was about to die.
As a result of the traumatic wildlife attack, she disclosed that she had difficulty sleeping at night since it occurred. The woman notes that she never had a problem sleeping in the past.
The terrifying attack is a reminder of the dangers that can be lurking in our backyards. Snakes and hawks are both predators, and they can be unpredictable.
