CNN reported that military officials in Kyiv have announced they claimed partial success on the outskirts of Robotyne in the Zaporizhzhia region. Social media videos and images have been shared, which featured Ukrainian troops entering the village.

In response to the newest updates, the Institute for the Study of War [ISW] said even marginal gains by Ukraine in this area are significant as Russian forces have dedicated significant effort, time, and resources to defend.

Russian Action

On the other hand, Russian troops are attacking near Kupiansk, a village in the Ukrainian border region of Kharkiv. It was said the area had seen significant shelling and the first Ukrainian evacuation in months.

The Russians have also made unsuccessful attempts to regain lost ground near the village of Urozhaine in the eastern Donetsk region, Ukrainian military officials added after they earlier claimed partial success in gaining positions in the area Thursday (Aug. 10).

Deputy Commander of the Ukrainian Eastern Military Group for Strategic Communications Serhii Cherevatyi also said Saturday (Aug. 12) Russian forces are also trying to leverage an effort to relocate Ukrainian troops from other areas of the frontlines, detailing the Russians were attempting to lure the Ukrainians at the Lyman-Kupiansk direction in Kharkiv.

UK Defense Ministry: Belarus Pays Wagner After Failed Mutiny

With the Wagner Group falling out of Russian favor after Yevgeny Prigozhin's mutiny last June, the British Ministry of Defense (MOD) speculated Belarus was now the mercenary group's second most plausible paymasters.

In its latest intelligence update, the MOD stated the Russian government has acted against Prigozhin's other business interests and that they were no longer funding the military contractors.
