US Tennis icon Serena Williams and her husband Alexis Ohanian have welcomed their second child, a baby girl, on social media.
"Welcome, Adira River Ohanian," Alexis wrote on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, revealing his daughter's name. "I'm grateful to report our house is teaming with love: a happy & healthy newborn girl and a happy & healthy mama. Feeling grateful."
Photos of the Ohanians were also on the post, including one where Williams holds newborn Adira in one hand and embraces her 5-year-old daughter Olympia in the other.
Ohanian: Williams is the GMOAT
Ohanian also praised Williams for her physical and mental strength as a wife and as a mother, calling her the "GMOAT" or "the greatest mother of all time."
For her part, Williams, who earlier announced her retirement from tennis through a Vogue article, said her job now was to become a wife to Ohanian and a mother to her two girls.
"I have never liked the word retirement," she wrote. "Maybe the best word to describe what I'm up to is evolution. These days, if I have to choose between building my tennis résumé and building my family, I choose the latter."
Part of her reason to retire was due to the physical complications she experienced after giving birth to Olympia in 2017, especially when she discovered she had blood clots in her lungs.
