Tower Climber Falls, Dies in Seattle, Reason Still Unkown

A tower climber in Seattle was apparently electrocuted when he climbed a 200-foot tower, touched a high-voltage power line and fell to a platform where he died, according to reports.

The Seattle Fire Department team recovered the tower climber and his identity has not yet been released. According to the Associated Press, the firefighters discovered a cap and cellphone next to the tower climber, but no identification or evidence that could lead to explaining why he had climbed up the tower in the first place.

Firefighters had to call in a helicopter for assistance to retrieve the body from the platform. His body showed no signs of life, and it took several hours before he body was able to be lowered to the ground.

Peter Clarke, Seattle City Light spokesperson said that someone would have to be "very determined" to make it to the top of the tower. Suggestions have swirled this was a suicide, but official police authorities have not yet confirmed or denied anything Meanwhile, the city spokesperson added they will focus on how to make the tower harder to climb in case the incident happens again.
