The death of Wagner leader Yevgeny Prigozhin is making huge headlines. After the failed uprising of his mercenary organization, Prigozhin suddenly died after his plane crashed on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Now, people are asking what caused the incident; some of them questioning if the Russian government is involved in it.
Wagner Leader Prigozhin Died After Private Jet Crashed
Reuters reported that Prigozhin was aboard the Embraer Legacy 600 executive aircraft. After departing, no sign of a problem was identified.
The private jet was carrying seven passengers and three crew members, as confirmed by Russia's emergency services ministry.
The aircraft departed from Moscow and was going to St. Petersburg. However, it crashed near the village of Kuzhenkuno in the Tver region.
Ian Petchenik of Fightradar24 said that the airplane made a sudden downward vertical. In just 30 seconds, the private jet plummeted more than 8,000 feet from its cruising altitude of 28,000 feet.
"They may have been wrestling (with the aircraft) after whatever happened," said Petchenik.
He added that there was no indication that something was wrong with the aircraft before it dramatically dropped.
"Whatever happened, happened quickly," he added.

Was Russian Government Involved?
According to CNN World, the private jet broke apart across a 2 km area away from the village. The majority of the wreckage was discovered near agricultural enterprises in the area.
Rosaviatsia, Russia's aviation agency, said that some top Wagner lieutenants were also aboard the private jet.
As of writing, Russian authorities are still investigating the incident. They are conducting search and investigation operations to determine the main cause of the airplane crash.
However, many rumors claim that the death of Prigozhin was caused by the Russian government. Some experts even warned that the Wagner leader was a dead man walking after his mercenary group decided to conduct an uprising against Putin.
A Telegram channel connected to Wagner also posted propaganda videos, saying that the death of Prigozhin wasn't an accident.
But, since Russian officials haven't confirmed the main cause of his death, these details will remain speculations.
