The announcement of the "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert" movie made huge headlines after the country singer herself confirmed it.
Now, the American singer's fans showed their strong support after they tried to buy the film's tickets, which crashed the AMC app.
Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie: AMC App Crashes
According to Billboard, Taylor's fans flooded the AMC app as they tried to buy the Eras Tour movie tickets. The American movie theater chain confirmed this. It send an in-app message to users, saying that the online reservations were temporarily down due to high volume.
The theater company added that if fans want to purchase movie tickets, they can best visit their local AMC Theater.
"AMC is also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale," said the company.
AMC Theater added that people who want to buy the tickets online could experience outages, delays, and longer waiting room times. But, AMC said they are committed to ensuring that outages and delays are all addressed as quickly as possible.
What to Know About Eras Tour Movie
NPR reported that the singer announced the "Taylor Swift: Eras Tour Concert" on Thursday, Aug. 31, via her official Instagram post. She said the film will be shown in North America, specifically across the United States, Mexico, and Canada.
Swift added that the movie will come out as early as Oct. 13, saying fans can experience the Eras Tour concert.
"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I'm overjoyed to tell you that it'll be coming to the big screen soon," she shared.
Taylor advised her fans to wear their Eras Tour attire friendship bracelets, as well as encourage them to dance and sing while watching the movie on big screens.
Many film production companies think the new Eras Tour movie will be a big hit. Because of this, they decided to change the schedules of their films. One of them is Blumhouse, which adjusted the release of "The Exorcist: The Believer" to Nov. 6 (its original schedule was Oct. 13 as well).
