According to emails from Hunter Biden's laptop dated 2014, the then-vice president Biden discussed a potential White House recruit under a pseudonym.
On June 23, 2014, Hunter sent an email to "Robin Ware" from his official Rosemont Seneca Partners email address, as reported by Fox News.
Hunter wrote, "Before you fill position pls talk to me----- J. McGrail very much wants to serve as detail fr treasury."
Within a few minutes, the email robinware456@gmail.com responded with the message "Re Johnny call me right away Dad."
According to House Republicans looking into the Biden family, one of the aliases Biden used to communicate with his son about political issues during his vice presidency was Robin Ware.
Senior Counsel John McGrail worked for the U.S. Treasury when the emails were sent. Two months later, he started working for the White House as Biden's deputy counsel, according to his LinkedIn profile. McGrail is currently working again at the Treasury as the undersecretary for domestic finance's counselor.
The email's revelations follow this week's news that the Southeastern Legal Foundation (SLF) had filed a lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), demanding all communications and records pertaining to three email accounts used by Biden, including robinware456@gmail.com, JRBWare@gmail.com, and Robert.L.Peters@pci.gov.
The SLF claimed it requested the information under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) in June 2022 but has yet to receive a single document.
In an email from June 2022 that was made public as part of the litigation, NARA appeared to affirm the availability of more than 5,000 possibly relevant documents to the foundation's FOIA request.
Rep. James Comer, the chair of the House Oversight Committee, also wrote to NARA this month asking for the release of all emails between Biden and his son related to Ukraine, Burisma, and any papers pertaining to the pseudonyms.

Is Biden Really Involved In Hunter's International Business Dealings?
House Republicans now want the National Archives to believe those messages may reveal new information after months of trying and failing to demonstrate that Joe Biden was involved in his son Hunter Biden's international business dealings.
Comer wrote to Colleen Shogan, the director of the National Archives, on August 17 to request access to any correspondence between Joe Biden and Robert Peters, Robin Ware, or JRB Ware. According to Comer's statement in that letter, the committee needs the data to "craft legislative solutions aimed at deficiencies it has identified in the current legal framework regarding ethics laws and disclosure of financial interests related to the immediate family members of Vice Presidents and Presidents."
The Reason Behind Biden's Aliases
In order to prevent hackers and spammers from simply guessing the vice president's email address, a White House official claimed that Biden utilized these other identities for his email accounts. A White House official, Ian Sams, posted on Aug. 29 on X, the social networking website that replaced Twitter, "Newsflash: government leaders for decades have used aliases to avoid spam & hacking."
