The biggest search for the Loch Ness Monster in five decades got underway in the Scottish Highlands, as researchers and enthusiasts from around the world braved pelting rain to try to track down the elusive Nessie. There are reports detailing two alleged sightings of the legendary Loch Ness monster in Scotland in the same week as an earlier report of a sighting of the creature through photographs.

The last time the monster was sighted and photographed was when a 12-year-old girl named Charlotte Robinson reportedly saw the monster in 2018, from 50 feet (15 meters) away, with her claim recorded in believers' official sightings register.

Her photo was the "best" of Nessie, as the monster was called by enthusiasts, to date, until 51-year-old shutterbug Chie Kelly recently came forward to share her own photographs of the creature to the public, which were taken at the same week as Robinson's photograph five years ago.

Kelly's photographs only surfaced recently out of fear of ridicule. She has since put her worries aside to allow her photos to be published as hundreds of researchers and monster hunters gathered at Loch Ness last weekend in the biggest - and ultimately futile - search yet for Nessie.

The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register keeper Gary Campbell was quoted by the New York Post saying it was an "extraordinary" week, saying the two sightings and their photos were proof that Nessie is real and the way the photographs were taken were totally baffling.
