A Texas man reportedly crashed his vehicle into Denny's restaurant in Texas, injuring at least 23 people on Monday morning.

The Rosenberg Police Department said that multiple 911 calls were made in relation to the incident at roughly 11:22 a.m. The department also released images of the scene showing the car still fully inside the restaurant while surrounded by debris.

Denny's Restaurant Car Crash

The police said that all the injured people were inside the Denny's restaurant when the crash occurred, and their wounds ranged from minor to serious. All of the victims were reportedly transported to local hospitals with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities also said the vehicle driver rammed through the building's walls was not hurt. In a statement, the Rosenberg Police Department said that the investigation into the cause of the accident is still ongoing.

The Denny's restaurant struck by the car was located along a Southwest Freeway frontage road in Rosenberg, roughly 35 miles southwest of Houston. In a statement, Sylvia Flores said that her mother and father love Denny's and were eating lunch at the restaurant when they were injured by the accident, as Newsbreak.

Flores said during an interview that her father heard a big bang and immediately saw the car's hood that rammed through the restaurant walls. The debris from the crash was everywhere.

She added that her parents, who are already in their late 70s, were brought to different hospitals and that she saw them with "stitches everywhere." Flores said her mother had a possible broken leg because a beam fell on her when the vehicle crashed into the Denny's restaurant.

Flores noted that it was a blessing that her parents were still alive and talking even after the accident. However, she noted that the incident would most likely scar the two elderly and may not want to eat at the restaurant for an extended period.

Multiple Injured Victims

Police officials noted that the victims of the accident ranged in age from 12 to 60 years old, but Flores' statements about her parents dispute that claim. The victims' injuries ranged from minor lacerations to severe injuries, but they were all conscious when transported to local hospitals, according to ABC13.

Authorities did not yet identify the man driving the vehicle that crashed into the Denny's restaurant but noted that he was roughly 30 years old. They also said that multiple lanes of the Southwest Freeway were temporarily closed while the investigation into the accident was ongoing.

Laura Galvin, whose in-laws were eating breakfast in a booth at the Denny's restaurant during the crash, said that they were pushed into the kitchen by the force of the accident. She noted that her brother-in-law received most of the impact and that her mother-in-law had "hematomas all over her arms and legs." According to ABC News, Galvin said that no one expected such an incident, especially on a holiday.
