An F-35 stealth fighter jet is currently missing after the recent training mishap of the U.S. Marine Corps. The military aircraft disappeared on Sunday, Sept. 17. If you want to help find the missing jet, here are the major details you need to know.
[BREAKING] F-35 Stealth Fighter Jet Now Missing
According to Gizmodo's latest report, the training an F-35B Lightning II fighter jet went missing on Sept. 17. Luckily, the pilot inside the aircraft was able to eject and parachute away safely.
The jet operator was able to reach the ground near Charleston, South Carolina. After that, the pilot was taken to a local hospital. Right now, the military personnel are in a safe condition.
"We can confirm a mishap involving an F-35B Lightning II jet from Marine Fighter Attack Training Squadron (VMFAT) 501 with the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing," said the U.S. Marine Corps' spokesperson via Business Insider.
The official explained that they are still gathering more information regarding the incident. They are also assessing the situation in order to find the missing fighter jet.
As of writing, the Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort is cooperating with the Joint Base Charleston. They are currently focusing on the Northern area of the base, which surrounds Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie.
"Emergency response teams are still trying to locate the F-35," said the Joint Base Charleston.

The Joint Base Charleston said that the public is encouraged to cooperate with civilian and military authorities to find the missing fighter jet.
Via its official Facebook post, the military facility said that those with the information can contact the 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing Public Affairs Office at 252-466-3827.
Some Facebook users are sharing useful information based on their research. One of them said that a reliable source revealed that the jet was flying west/southwest to Lake Marion's dam.
Meanwhile, others are just making fun of the missing aircraft; sharing memes featuring the fighter jet.
