Recently, the Biden Administration has been urged by climate environmental activists, as well as numerous Democratic lawyers to make more efforts to fight the worsening climate change.

The White House actually listening to their call for help. Now, the Biden Admin unveiled a new program called "American Climate Corps," which is expected to greatly benefit the environmental sectors.

Biden Admin Unveils American Climate Corps Program

According to NPR's latest report, the Biden Admin unveiled the new American Climate Corps program on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

The White House explained that this new environmental effort is based on an older program that helped millions of people to work during the Great Depression.

Ali Zaidi, U.S. President Joe Biden's climate policy adviser, said that the American Climate Corps has wider goals that are beyond addressing the climate problems.

"We're opening up pathways to good-paying careers, lifetimes of being involved in the work of making our communities fairer, more sustainable, more resilient in the face of a changing climate," he explained via NBC News.

The Biden Administration stated that this new program will mobilize over 20,000 Americans in the environmental industry, such as climate resilience and clean energy sectors.

The arrival of the American Climate Corps was already hinted at during the first week of Biden in office. When he was just starting as the U.S. president, he asked the government to find ways to establish a civilian climate corps.

He said that this program should be able to mobilize the next generation of resilience and conservation workers, as well as maximize the creation of accessible training opportunities and good jobs.

Those who are qualified to join will receive payments for their work. What's good about this initiative is that it doesn't require participants to have previous experiences related to environmental jobs.
