The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services confirmed this latest detail about the roller coaster. But is it really safe to ride it again?

According to Fox News' latest report, the FDACS announced that the Galaxy Spin roller coaster is open to the public again. The governmental department made this decision on Saturday, Sept. 30, after it completed its thorough investigation.

"The department allowed for the reopening of the Galaxy Spin ride after conducting a thorough investigation," said FDACS in an email it sent to FOX 35.

"The department allowed for the reopening of the Galaxy Spin ride after conducting a thorough investigation," added the governmental agency.

However, FDACS officials still required Fun Spot America to follow two changes to ensure so that the roller coaster incident will not happen again:

  • The amusement park should provide additional safety signage and messaging across its area to ensure visitors are well-informed.
  • If passengers are 10 years old and below, they need to be accompanied by other individuals, specifically at least 14-year-old guardians.

On Aug. 4, a 6-year-old kid fell from the popular Galaxy Spin roller coaster of Fun Spot America in Kissimmee, Florida. Reports stated that the child was seen beneath the roller coaster's tracks.

After receiving 911 calls, the Osceola County Fire Rescue Department quickly responded to the accident scene. Luckily, the boy didn't die and was taken to the nearest hospital.

The Osceola County Sheriff's Office's incident report stated that the victim fell as high as 30 feet (6 feet). Because of this alarming incident, the kid suffered traumatic injuries.

The Fun Spot America quickly closed, and authorities launched investigations. However, the boy's condition, how he fell, and other details were not disclosed.

But, the amusement park promised to work with the Florida Department of Agriculture to investigate the alarming accident.

"The safety of our guests is our number one priority. We are working with the Florida Department of Agriculture and the manufacturer to investigate the incident," said Fun Spot America.
