A FedEx Boeing 757 skidded off the runway of Chattanooga Regional Airport in Tennessee Wednesday night (October 4) after its landing gear did not come down.
Officials said no one was injured in the crash landing, the Associated Press reported.
Emergency services rushed to the airport after the airplane circled around the airport before making its final descent and came to rest beyond the runway in a safety area, the Chattanooga Fire Department said.
"Great work by the pilot and airport personnel, as well as all responding agencies for their coordinated efforts," the fire department added.

Sparks and Smokes, But No Fire
Video footage of the moment the plane crash landed showed sparks flying and smoke from the engines but did not cause any fire.
Meanwhile, a FedEx spokesperson told reporters that the flight from Chattanooga to Memphis experienced an issue right after taking off, prompting the pilots to return to the airport.
The National Transportation Safety Board, on the other hand, said it was investigating the incident.
Local media added that Chattanooga Airport's primary runway has been closed due to the crash landing, which could mean some flight times could be affected.
