Celebrities gave mixed reactions regarding the latest conflict between Israel and Palestine as the fighting dragged on to its second day.

As Hamas and Israeli forces clash and hundreds of people are killed in the process, celebrities also take sides on who to support and why.

Pro-Israel Statements

First on the list of those who support Israel is one of their own - Gal Gadot, popularly known for portraying Wonder Woman/Diana Prince in DC's Justice League. In an Instagram post, she said the world could not "sit on the fence" while alleged Hamas atrocities have been done.

Another pro-Israel supporter was legendary pop star Madonna, who also took to Instagram to share videos and photos of the situation in southern Israel.

Michael Rapaport and Geraldo Riviera also came out to condemn Hamas's attack, adding that harming the Israeli hostages they have would mean dire consequences and a "massive retaliation" from Israel.

Meanwhile, actress Jill Zarin called for the US Congress to support Israel and condemn Hamas's attack publicly.

Other celebrities who came to the side of Israel were Jewish actor Joshua Malina, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kangana Ranaut, and Amy Schumer.

Kylie Jenner initially posted her support for Israel but was reportedly forced to delete it after facing backlash from her pro-Palestine followers.

Pro-Palestine Sentiments

On the other hand, there were also celebrities who sided with Palestine and believed the Jewish Israelis were allegedly illegally occupying what they claimed was their own land.

Palestinian fashion influencer twins Simi and Haze Khadra, known collectively as SimiHaze, called the outrage against Hamas "absolute Zionist thinking" that allegedly dismissed all Palestinians as terrorists, The Messenger reported.

Former porn star and anti-porn advocate Mia Khalifa also shared her pro-Palestinian perspective, saying that siding with the Israelis was being on the "wrong side of apartheid."

Meanwhile, the Hindustan Times reported that Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker found those who expressed shock at Hamas's attacks hypocritical.

Neutral, Nuanced Take

Meanwhile, comedian Sarah Silverman said her relatives were in Israel to partake in protests against "BIBI," the derogatory name protesters gave to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

While she believed Hamas was a terrorist organization, she urged people to fight for a two-state solution where both Israel and Palestine would be recognized as independent countries.
