Amber Alert Issued In Kansas For Texas Teenager Nomei Velazquez

An amber alert was issued in Kansas for a teenager from Texas who went missing on Monday, the Associated Press reported.

Authorities are searching for 15-year-old Nomei "Mimi" Velazquez, who they believe to be in Kansas after tracking cell phone activity in the state.

Velasquez stands at 4-feet-11-inches, weighs 120 lbs., and has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a white shirt, blue jeans, black tennis shoes, holding a brown purse, and wearing glasses.

Officials think she may be with Juan Fabian Arenas Delacruz, who is described as 5-foot-11-inches tall and weighing 170 lbs with some facial hair.

They are possibly traveling in a silver 2004 Volkswagen Passat with Texas plate DF7T507.

According to law enforcement officers, a cell phone ping was picked up in Lenexa on Tuesday evening. Velazquez and Delacruz might be driving north on Interstate 35 in the Kansas City area.

Anyone with information regarding their whereabouts is asked to call 911 or 1-800-KS-CRIME.
