The "Day of Jihad" attack in France led to the death of a French teacher and injured two other individuals.
Authorities said that the incident happened after the suspect was able to enter the Gambetta High School in the northern city of Arras.
Police officials claim that the stabber was allegedly a former student of the school. Here are other major details they shared.
France: 'Day of Jihad' Attack Kills Teacher, Injures Two
According to Breitbart's latest report, the stabber has been identified as Mohamed Mogouchkov. Police officers said that the suspect used a knife to stab his victims, which included the dead teacher and two injured people.
They added that wounds to the neck and throat were found on the bodies of the three victims. One of them was even stabbed in the carotid artery.
The Guardian reported that Mogouchkov is a 19-year-old Chechen refugee in France. He claims that his family was already subjected to deportation because they have been accused of illegally living in the country since 2014.
However, reports clarified that a group of civil society, as well as pro-migrant organizations, were able to encourage the France's government to halt the deportation.
Despite this, Mogouchkov continued his terrorist-like plan. On Oct. 13 at 11:00 a.m. local time, the stabber decided to attach the high school. He even screamed "Allahu Akbar" before killing the teacher and attacking other people.
Police officer Sliman Hamzi, one of the first responders on the scene, said that he was alerted when one of his colleagues passed in front of the high school shouting that a man was attacking with a knife.
"Colleagues arrived quickly but unfortunately couldn't save the victim," he said.
Police Says Stabber Was Former Student of French School
Sliman Hamzi claimed that the stabber was a former student at the Gambetta High School. The police officer's statement was backed by a PE teacher.
Fabien Dufay, a physical education teacher at the school, said that Mogouchkov was one of his pupils during his final year as an educator at the Gambetta High School.
He added that when the criminal was still his former student, he was reserved and calm. Dufay added that he was able to have completely normal conversations with the 19-year-old boy.
But, what the teacher didn't know was that Mogouchkov is known to the security services for his involvement with radical Islam. If you want to learn more details about the "Day of Jihad" stabber in France, you can click this link.
