The U.S. said that it received over 200 UFO reports in the past eight months. Department of Defense officials said that most of these UAP reports come from military members and commercial pilots.

Because of the increasing UAP sightings, the U.S. DOD is now checking the previous UFO reports, even those received back in 2019.

According to Fox News' latest report, the Pentagon said that they received more than 270 reports about unidentified flying objects.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Department of Defense released a report, revealing that these UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) reports were acquired between August 31, 2022, to April 30, 2023.

DoD said that it transferred all these reports to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office. Because of this, the government had no choice but to document and analyze them.

The defense department also said that they also started checking around 17 UFO sightings, which were recorded in 2019 and 2022. As of writing, the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office received a total of 801 UAP reports.

Analyzing these rising UAP reports is essential for the Department of Defense since the agency considers UFOs in airspace as a potential hazard, although no reports confirmed that a UAP endangered a commercial or military aircraft while flying.

The rising trend in UFO reports was identified a few months after the U.S. Congress started taking UAP sightings seriously, especially since former USAF intelligence official David Grusch began sharing revelations about UFOs.

Aside from this, the Independent UK reported that it could be because the Federal Aviation Administration began monitoring airspace around U.S. airports and providing new information to the Pentagon.

But, no matter what the reason is, Pentagon Director Sean Kirkpatrick's office is still becoming more concerned.

"Although none of these UAP reports have been positively attributed to foreign activities, these cases continue to be investigated," said Kirkpatrick.

"There are ways to hide in our noise that always concern me. I am worried from a national security perspective," he explained.

As of writing, the public's attention doesn't focus on UFO sightings because of more serious problems, such as the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.

But, experts said that the rising trend in UFO reports could soon become among the main concerns of Americans and other people around the globe.
