A mass car recall affected Tesla, Ford, and Kia vehicles. It is estimated that the cars recollected due to numerous issues reached over 120,000 units.
If you own one of these car brands, here are the affected models, main problems, and what you need to do as a vehicle owner.
New Mass Car Recall Affects Tesla, Ford, Kia Vehicles
According to USA Today's latest report, Tesla, Ford, and Kia cars faced mass recalls from Oct. 15 until Oct. 21. This information was confirmed by the official website of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Kia
Kia is recollecting over 22,700 Borrego SUVs, specifically those manufactured in 2009-2014. The main issue for this recall is unsecured headliner plates (interior trim panels). The automaker explained that this component problem could endanger the lives of drivers during a car crash since the headliner plate could hit the occupant.
Tesla
The giant EV maker is recalling 54,676 Tesla Model X SUVs, which were produced between 2021 and 2023. Tesla said that it found that these EVs' controllers might fail to detect low brake fluid. This issue can also put the lives of drivers at risk since there's a chance that the low brake fluid warning light may not appear.
Ford
The American automaker said that it is recalling 34,762 Mustang Mach-E electric SUVs due to overheating issues in these vehicles' high voltage, extended range battery main contactors. Ford explained that if the high voltage battery contactor overheats, it could lead to loss of drive power, which increases the chance of a car crash.
Aside from Ford, Tesla, and Kia, other automakers in the U.S. also recalled thousands of their vehicles. These include General Motors, Toyota, and Chrysler. You can click this link to learn more about their car recalls.

What Tesla, Ford, Kia Owners Should Do
If you own one of the mentioned car brands and models, then the best thing you can do is check it via the NHTSA recalls website. To do this, you must enter your car's VIN (vehicle identification number).
This 17-digit number is usually located on the lower left part of the windshield. You can also see it on your car's registration card, as well as on your vehicle insurance card.
Once you enter your VIN, NHTSA's search tool will let you know if your car (if it's an unrepaired vehicle) has been included in a recall in the past 15 calendar years.
Aside from this, NHTSA will also let you know the latest automakers that are conducting mass recalls.
