A pro-Palestine man in California threatened a Jewish family after breaking into their home. The criminal was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 25, after attempting to break into a Studio City home.
Law enforcement authorities said that the incident was possibly a hate crime since the man was yelling "free Palestine" repeatedly while threatening to kill the homeowners.
Pro-Palestine Man Threatens Jewish Family After Breaking Into Their Home
According to Fox News' latest report, the Los Angeles Police Department was alerted at around 5:30 a.m. after receiving a call saying that a man broke into a home.
Victims told the cops that they were hiding in a room with their four children while the man was inside their residence. The frightened Jewish family made a second call to tell LAPD authorities that the man was threatening to kill them.
They added that the suspect wanted to do this because they were Jewish. Reports stated that this could really be the case since the family had mezuzahs, which were parchment pieces inscribed with Hebrew verses from Torah.
Luckily, the LAPD arrived just in time before the criminal was able to do what he was planning against the Jewish family. Police responders said that when they arrested the man, he was under the influence of drugs.
"Free Palestine, free Palestine, free Palestine," said the suspect while he was being arrested by the police officials.

LA Mayor Condemns Pro-Palestine Man's Action
Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass condemned the man's action, saying that hate crimes have no place in the city.
"The vile act of hate that took place this morning has no place in our City," said Bass via Los Angeles Times.
"In the wake of the terror and violence inflicted over the previous weeks, this is one of the worst fears of Jewish families across our country," she added.
The Los Angeles mayor further stated that as the Israel-Hamas war worsens, hatred is also "spilling" across the threshold.
Bass said that this is destroying the sense of sanctuary and safety in a home.
She added that Los Angeles City remains steadfast in support of Jewish people, promising that they will not cower to hate crimes.
