Apple recently held a "Scary Fast" showcase where the tech giant unveiled its new MacBook equipped with the M3 family chip for even stronger performance.
These chips provide higher performance and provide remarkable new capabilities to Apple's MacBook Pro. The new 14-inch MacBook Pro with M3 is not only great to use for everyday tasks, but it also delivers powerful sustained performance in pro apps and games.
Apple's 'Scary Fast' Showcase
The new product is perfect for aspiring creatives, students, and entrepreneurs and has a price tag that starts at $1,599. Both the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro with M3 Pro provide even greater performance and additional unified memory support. This enables more demanding workflows for users, including coders, creatives, and researchers.
The new MacBook Pro is said to deliver performance and capabilities that push the limits of computing. Equipped with a powerful GPU as well as a strong CPU and support for up to 128 GB of unified memory, it enables extreme workflows and multitasking across pro apps for users like machine learning programmers, 3D artists, and video editors, as per Apple.
All of Apple's MacBook Pro models also feature a brilliant Liquid Retina XDR display with 20% brighter SDR content, a built-in 1080p camera, an immersive six-speaker sound system, and a wide array of connectivity options.
The new product lineup offers the ultimate in pro portability and delivers the same performance whether plugged in or on battery. This means that users can take workflows anywhere they go and customers can order the new MacBook Pro as early as now and wait for them to become available starting on Nov. 7.
In a statement, Apple's senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus said that there is no product that could compare to the new MacBook Pro. He added that the device's remarkable power-efficient performance provides up to 22 hours of battery life.
The tech giant said that the new chips mark the "first personal computer chips" that are made using the more efficient 3-nanometer process. On top of providing better performance, they also come with an updated GPU that supports ray tracing, mesh shading, and Dynamic Caching, according to The Verge.
Better Performance and Capabilities
The latter is a feature that optimizes the amount of memory that a certain device uses when it performs tasks. Apple said that its 24-inch iMac is getting an M3 chip upgrade that would give it two times faster performance than its M1-equipped predecessor.
In general, gamers are expected to appreciate the jump to M3 chips due to their capabilities regarding ray tracing and mesh shading. The latter allows the MacBook Pro to handle more visually complex scenes by handling geometry processing faster.
On the other hand, hardware-accelerated ray tracing, which started on Apple's iPhone 15 Pro series with the A17 Pro chip, allows the device to deliver more accurate lighting effects and shadows.
With the release of the new products, Apple's 13-inch MacBook Pro M2 is now discontinued and will no longer be available for purchase. That product's price started at $1,299 and this is $300 less compared to the cheapest M3 MacBook Pro which is priced at $1,599, said Tom's Guide.
