U.S. President Joe Biden now wants to "pause" the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. He said this during his speech on Wednesday, Nov. 2, in Minnesota.
When the American leader was asked during the campaign reception, he said that he believes the war in the Middle East should be paused.
But, what does he mean by this? Here's what Biden explained and what experts think about his latest statement.
Joe Biden Wants to 'Pause' Israel-Hamas War
According to CNBC's latest report, Biden explained that the pause he was referring to means giving time to get prisoners out.
"I think we need a pause. A pause means giving time to get the prisoners out. Give time," said the American president.
He said this after a protester interrupted his campaign by shouting that there should be a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
Meanwhile, some critics shared their opinion regarding Biden's statement about the Israel-Hamas war. They explained that the call for a pause was a subtle departure of POTUS and his top White House aides, as reported by CBS News.
Ever since the terrorist group attacked Israel on Oct. 7, the U.S. government has been showing strong support for the Israelis.
Recently, the White House even said that they will not dictate how the Israel Defense Forces conduct their military operations.
There's no denying that the United States is more pro-Israel and Joe Biden has also been making efforts to urge Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to avoid killing Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Some of Biden's White House aides also urged the Israeli government to make sure that they can identify civilians from Hamas terrorists.

Will Netanyahu Give In To Biden's Request?
The protester who interrupted Joe Biden's speech in Minnesota said that if the U.S. President really cared about Jewish people, he would call for a cease-fire.
Biden replied to the woman's statement, saying that he was the guy who convinced Netanyahu to call for a ceasefire to let prisoners out.
He added that he was also able to convince Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi to open the door to allow humanitarian aid to enter through the Rafah border crossing from Gaza into Egypt.
Biden's comments show that he is confident that Netanyahu will listen to his call for a pause. But, the Hamas terrorist group's leaders should also give in to the request of POTUS before a pause can really happen.
