Grok is the first product of the tech executive's latest AI firm called xAI. But how does it compare with ChatGPT and other AI chatbots in the tech market?

If you are a regular X user, here's everything you need to know about Elon Musk's new Grok chatbot.

On Nov. 5, Sunday, Elon Musk announced that xAI released the new Grok chatbot. This was also confirmed by the billionaire's AI firm via its official X account.

"Grok is designed to answer questions with a bit of wit and has a rebellious streak, so please don't use it if you hate humor!" said xAI via its official X announcement post.

According to the Guardian's latest report, the new Grok AI chatbot was inspired by "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," the popular comedy science fiction franchise created by notable English humorist writer Douglas Adams.

This means Grok is unlike ChatGPT and other AI that usually follow restrictions to avoid offending users.

"Grok is an AI modeled after the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, so intended to answer almost anything and, far harder, even suggest what questions to ask!" explained xAI.

In Elon Musk's X post, many users already shared their excitement. Unfortunately, some of them still can't access the new AI chatbot.

This was explained by the billionaire, saying that xAI's servers are receiving so many sign-ups that users are being tagged as DDoS attacks. Musk said this issue is now being fixed so other users can try Grok.

Elon Musk provided an example of how Grok performed against ChatGPT. He asked both of the AI chatbots when was the last time Joe Rogan interviewed Elon Musk and what Rogan was wearing.

ChatGPT provided a simple and direct answer. However, the response of AI's chatbot wasn't interesting for many users.

Meanwhile, Grok's answer was humorous. xAI's chatbot even mentioned Joe Rogan's "love for jeans," which made some X users laugh. Aside from this, Grok also provided tips on how other people can style like Joe Rogan.

As of writing, xAI clarified that Grok is still an early Beta product, which means that lots of enhancements and adjustments are needed.
