Zac Efron, the star of 'The Iron Claw,' looked unrecognizable in a recent interview, leaving fans shocked at his new appearance.
Efron will play the role of the legendary Fritz Von Erich, aka Jack Adkisson, a professional wrestler who rose to fame in the 1960s in the new A24 film.
Zac Efron's 'Unrecognizable' New Look
Efron pushed his limits to bulk into shape to portray a member of the Von Erich wrestling family.
He said his body could not process the vegetables in the right way, so he stopped and tried something new. "I started intermittent fasting just after I stopped being vegan," Efron said in Men's Health.
However, the fans stayed quiet on Efron's newly sculpted rippling pectorals. But when a clip from the EW cover shoot was posted on Instagram and X, formerly known as Twitter, the fans were stunned, and one user asked, "What happened to his face?"
User pickle1253 commented that Efron looked like Prince Farquhar in Shrek, noticing his prominent jawline. "Shrek' live action? Omg," user pedroouropretoconsultor added.
User robbyrob82 poked fun at the actor and said, "Damn his face doesn't even move now." User nickridley17 noted that growth hormone had wrecked his jaw/lips.
One fan tried to explain Efron's transformation to end further negative comments about his appearance.
"Z said that his jaw shattered in an accident, and he had to get it restructured which is supposedly why it looks different now," taylor.brwn wrote.

Efron's Plastic Surgery Rumors
Last April, rumors surfaced that Efron had plastic surgery, with many alleging that his jaw looked enlarged. Efron addressed the rumors in his interview with People last September 2022.
He revealed that he broke his jaw when he fell over at his home in November 2013, making his face and jaw muscles have to work extra hard.
"They just got really," Efron said, "really big."
Since then, he has been seeing a physical therapist to help him recover, but he stopped when he started filming season 2 of his Netflix series 'Down to Earth' in Australia last year.
He added that he tried to stay away from social media and said that if he valued people's comments about him, he may not be able to do his work.
Furthermore, Efron also opened up about his body image in 2017's 'Baywatch' and said his body was not attainable in the series.
He shared that he had required Lasix, a potent diuretic, to achieve his body in the series. He added that he prefers a little extra fat on his body as well.
Despite his plastic surgery and new unrecognizable look, fans reached out to express admiration since 'High School Musical.'
"I think he still look hot," user purplepinklexi said.
Efron's new film with Jeremy Allen White and Harris Dickinson 'The Iron Claw' will be in cinemas everywhere on December 22.
