UN Expert Warns Israel's Anti-Hamas Plans Can Lead to More Terrorists—Here's What Francesca Albanese Thinks

Here's what Francesca Albanese explained.

UN expert Francesca Albanese claims that the effort of Israel to wipe out Hamas terrorists can breed more radicalization, encouraging more resistance from Palestinians.

Albanese, the UN special rapporteur assigned to occupied Palestinian territories, expressed her opinion during an interview on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

She explained that aside from being unlawful, Israel's anti-Hamas operations could lead to another resistance from Palestinians.

Francesca told The Guardian that she and the international community, as well as the human rights community, already raised the alarm against Israel's systematic repression of Palestinian human rights.

However, the UN special rapporteur disappointedly said that "no one has really listened." Because of this, Albanese believes that the Israel-Palestine war has reached a very dangerous point of no return.

She warned that the chances of peaceful co-existence between Israelis and Palestinians have dropped "vertically off a cliff," claiming that the Middle East is already staring into an abyss.

Francesca said that it is really possible for Israel to eradicate Hamas, as well as other individuals who played a part in the terrorist group's inhumane operations. However, the UN expert warned that this could also lead to another resistance.

"But Israel's occupation remained in place, all the grievances would continue to grow and another resistance would emerge. It's natural, it's almost a law of physics. History confirms that," said Albanese.

"When you see children there, a profound trauma has gone across their tiny bodies. They can speak like adults, they speak of the rights, they speak of the world they know and the world they want," she added.

Francesca said that it would be difficult to keep these young children from going down the wrong path (following Hamas' acts) because so many of their hopes have been destroyed.

Despite criticisms and calls for a ceasefire, the Israel Defense Forces are still pushing their ground invasion in the Gaza Strip.

CNBC reported that IDF troops are preparing a coordinated and integrated attack from the sea, land, and air to eliminate Hamas terrorists hiding in the area.

Previously, the Israeli military confirmed that they completed the mobilization of hundreds of thousands of troops for the counteroffensive.

This decision of the Israeli government has been heavily criticized by humanitarian agencies, including those in the U.S.
