OpenAI's most-awaited superintelligence development could soon start since CEO Sam Altman is already seeking more funds from Microsoft.
The tech executive shared this effort after Microsoft announced earlier this year that it is planning to invest up to $10 billion in OpenAI.
This is a big deal since the billion-dollar fund could extend the collaborations between the two firms; enabling them to include AI supercomputing and research.
But, the most interesting part about this billion-dollar investment is that OpenAI could soon start developing its superintelligence tech.
OpenAI 'Superintelligence' Development Could Start Soon!
According to Fox Business' latest report, CEO Sam Altman said that the partnership with Microsoft is "working really well."
He added that he is expecting that OpenAI's relationship with Microsoft will help fund the development of more advanced artificial intelligence systems, especially a superintelligence model.
The OpenAI official further stated that they will focus on how to build a superintelligence system and acquire the needed supercomputing power if ever they receive enough funds.
"The vision is to make artificial general intelligence (AGI), figure out how to make it safe, and figure out the benefits," explained Sam Altman.
Before Sam Altman shared this information, he announced that OpenAI is working on creating autonomous agents that can perform actions and tasks, such as sending emails, filing claims, making payments, etc.
However, he didn't confirm if these autonomous agents are new superintelligence.

What is Superintelligence?
The Independent UK explained that superintelligence is an artificial intelligence that is capable of surprising the knowledge (intelligence) of humans.
AI experts said that, unlike the current AI models, artificial superintelligence exceeds the cognitive performance of humans in virtually all domains of interest.
It is safe to say that a superintelligence system is comparable to Skynet; the fictional military system from the movie franchise "Terminator," which led to human extinction.
Although creating a superintelligence model sounds impossible, Sam Altman claimed that its arrival is inevitable, hinting that humanity should be prepared for it.
