United Flight 1909 Makes Emergency Landing in San Francisco Due to Bomb Threat

The flight was supposed to travel from LAX to Vancouver.

United Airlines flight 1909, which was supposed to fly from Los Angeles to Vancouver, made an emergency landing in San Francisco on Monday night (November 13) after an alleged bomb threat aboard.

The plane, an Airbus A320, was carrying 148 passengers and eight crew members out of LAX, ABC News Bay Area reported. Flight tracking showed that the flight almost made it to Oregon when it turned around. Investigators talked with passengers since the plane landed.

"United flight 1909 diverted to San Francisco this evening due to a potential security issue on board," a United representative told the Daily Mail. "The flight landed safely and was met by local law enforcement. We are working to get our customers to their final destination as soon as possible."

However, an Air Live report deemed the threat "not credible."

The flight was expected to take off to resume its flight to Vancouver at 07:00 Pacific Time (15:00 UTC).

MarketWatch reached out to United Airlines for comment but has not received an immediate response.
