Officers of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) arrested an armed Uber passenger on Wednesday (November 29) after a standoff in Los Angeles's Mount Washington neighborhood.
The standoff lasted over three hours before the suspect handed himself over.
Local media reported that the driver was able to contact LAPD to report a passenger who was brandishing a gun.
The driver managed to get out of his own vehicle and told officers that the armed passenger was refusing to exit.
Train services for the LA Metro were halted, issuing an alert on social media that there would be no train service between Highland Park and Heritage Square due to police activity.
Bus service would be available for affected travelers, they added.
