Jamie Lynn Spears Quits Jungle Reality Show – Here’s Why

Jamie Lynn also told fellow contestants she loves big sister Britney.

Jamie Lynn Spears, the younger sister of pop icon Britney Spears, has spoken up about the reason why she abruptly left the set of the reality TV show "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!"

In her Instagram post, she described her time in the camp as "incredibly special" despite quitting the show "on medical grounds."

Spears, 32, was the latest person to leave the 23rd season of the ITV production, which has since been plagued by other production setbacks in its location in Australia, such as bad weather.

During her time in the show, the singer and actress faced an emotional time in the camp, expressing her intention to quit on multiple occasions, as well as having a breakdown because she missed her two daughters.

"I can't wait to share with y'all everything about this once-in-a-lifetime experience," she said, "but I don't even know where to start when trying to describe what an incredibly special time and place I had with some of the absolute best humans I have ever met and consider family now."

Why Did Jamie Lynn Leave?

According to the Daily Mail, there was speculation that the real reason why the younger Spears departed the show was because she saw her last window of opportunity to leave before her girls would have to make a 14-hour flight to Brisbane.

ITV sources were accurately aware that she had quit other reality programs like "SAS: Who Dares Wins," and "Special Forces: The World's Toughest Test" after three weeks for similar reasons and took a dim view of her decision.

In the days before she had decided to leave the set, Spears spoke to fellow contestant Sam Thompson of her intention to leave.

Celebrities reportedly receive their "I'm a Celebrity" paycheck only if they stay for over 72 hours on the set, which was located on or near a jungle.

Jamie Lynn on Big Sister Britney

People magazine reported that, despite her brief stint, Jamie Lynn was able to take advantage of the clout she received from the show to talk about her sister and her most recent memoir, "The Woman in Me."

While talking to TV presenter Fred Sirieix on Saturday's episode of the UK reality TV show, she opened up about growing up alongside Britney and commented on how she felt about her older sister.

When asked about her current relationship with Britney and their strained relationship since she wrote her own memoir back in 2022, she simply replied, "I love my sister."
