Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that they are entering a new war phase. However, most of the results they have are still unsatisfying.
The year-long conflict between Ukraine and Russia has been devastating for both sides; losing hundreds of thousands of soldiers, military equipment, and funding.
Now, a new phase of war is about to be experienced by Ukraine and Russia. However, this time, it will be the European country that would be at a huge disadvantage.
Ukrainian President Says They're Entering New War Phase
According to The Drive's latest report, during an interview, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that there's a new phase of war they have to phase: winter.
"Look, we are not backing down, I am satisfied. We are fighting with the second (best) army in the world, I am satisfied," said the Ukrainian leader via the Associated Press.
However, he added that they are still unsatisfied with the major results they have in the ongoing war against Russia.
"We are losing people, I'm not satisfied. We didn't get all the weapons we wanted, I can't be satisfied, but I also can't complain too much," explained Zelenskyy.
The Ukrainian president said that they did their best to achieve faster, satisfying results. However, in their perspective, they weren't able to do this.
Instead of dwelling in the past, Volodymyr Zelenskyy is focused on the next stage of war; boosting Ukraine's domestic arms production.
But, he clarified that the current output they have is not enough to turn the tide against the Russian forces. This is why the Ukrainian president is urging Western Allies, especially the U.S., to offer favorable contracts and loans that will allow them to have a huge advantage (or even win) the war.
Winter to Put Ukraine at Huge Disadvantage
CNN reported that Ukrainian forces will be at a huge disadvantage as winter sets in the country. numerous Western officials are already warning the European nations regarding this matter.
Based on Western intelligence assessments, Russia could expand its bombardment of electrical facilities and other major civilian infrastructure.
Once this happens, it would bring more suffering to the Ukrainian civilians during the cold winter months. But, experts said that Ukraine can still fend off invading Russian troops.
This is because they know their lands compared to their enemies. They can use their counteroffensive tactics, allowing them to have defensive advantages.
