On Tuesday, Dec. 5, Station Casinos, a subsidiary of publicly traded Red Rock Resorts Inc. opened the 15-story Drango Casino & Resort. A celebration was conducted during the opening day, including a nighttime fireworks display.

It is the first casino house in Las Vegas since Resorts World, which cost $4.3 billion, opened in 2021. Although the new hot spot is cheaper than Resorts World, costing only $780 million, it is still quite exciting for Las Vegas visitors.

According to Fox Business' latest report, the Durango Casino & Resort is the newest addition to Sin City. However, it will not be joining Caesars Palace, the Venetian, and the Bellagio.

This is because it is located several miles away outside the Las Vegas Strip (6915 S. Durango Dr., Las Vegas, Nevada). Because of its location, the new casino is considered a hot spot for local residents instead of tourists who prefer focusing on attractions within the Las Vegas Strip.

The Associated Press reported that Stations Casinos got the permits in 2021, allowing them to finish the hotel-casino before 2023 ends.

Local authorities said that a later phase would lead to a second hotel tower, additional casino space, and an entertainment area and theater.

Aside from the Durango Casino & Resort, another new attraction is expected to open before 2023 ends. This is Fontainebleau, a $3.7 billion project that began in 2007 and is expected to open on Dec. 13.

But, before Fontainebleau arrives, here are what you can expect from the new Durangon Casino & Resort.
