"The Bachelor" contestant Andi Dorfman has reportedly quit her job as a lawyer to prepare for her upcoming season as the next "Bachelorette," TMZ reports. Even though the news hasn't officially been announced, TV blogger Reality Steve broke the news a few weeks ago that the 26-year-old would be the next lady looking for love on the ABC show.
Dorfman made it down to the final three - along with Nikki Ferrell and Clare Crawley - but eliminated herself right after spending the night with Juan Pablo during the "Fantasy Suites" episode. On the show, she said she felt like JP wasn't interested in getting to know her and realized that she needed to get out of there and away from him pronto.
It's not clear if Dorfman returned to work after exiting the show but TMZ obtained a copy of a letter written by Fulton County D.A. Paul Howard Jr. - Dorfman's boss - to the reality TV star. In the letter Howard calls Dorfman's request for time off "highly unusual" but grants it because she is looked at as "a valued member of the DA's office." According to TMZ, she was in the middle of a murder trial of rapper Lil Phat when she bailed.
However, there are strings attached to the request being granted: Dorman will not be paid while on leave and if she doesn't return by May 31, she's fired.
Reality Steve says the official announcement of Dorfman as the next "Bachelorette" will be announced on the live "After the Final Rose" show, which airs immediately after JP's season finale in Mar. 10.
The men who will be competing on the show are expected to arrive in Los Angeles on Mar. 9 and filming is scheduled for Mar. 11 or Mar. 12. The blog also has confirmed nine of the guys who will be on the show but won't release that information yet.
He does say that they are "no different than the rest of your crop of contestants- models, musicians, dudes with connections to past contestants, personal trainers etc."
Do you think Andi Dorfman will make a good Bachelorette?
