Florida Gunman Fatally Shot Outside Of Brevard County Courthouse

A gunman was fatally shot outside of Brevard County Courthouse in Florida on Friday, Reuters reported.

The armed man was discovered on the street outside of the court around 10 a.m. Police attempted negotiating with him for two hours before authorities opened fire at him.

"We don't know what he is agitated over," Brevard County Sheriff Wayne Ivey told reporters during the incident.

In addition to the court, the nearby Viera High School and Viera Charter School were placed on lockdown as a precaution.

The gunman's identity has not been released.

Officials are still unaware what caused his outburst outside of the court, where jury selection was beginning for the case against Brandon Bradley, who is accused of killing a police officer in 2012.
