The winner of the third Test will win the series. Australia won the first Test by 281 runs, and South Africa evened the series with a 231-run win in the second Test. Jean-Paul Duminy earned the Man of the Match award for his performance in the second Test, which included scoring 123 runs in the first innings.
"It's all set up for a cracking Test match," South Africa skipper Graeme Smith said, via CricBuzz.com. "It's been a challenging two weeks. A few obstacles have come our way and off the field there have been a few challenges personally as well. But I've had a good week of preparation personally and the team is in a good space."
Australia's batsmen struggled in the second Test against the South African bowlers, who took a total of 19 wickets in the contest. Despite being unable to clinch the series two Tests, Australia is confident they can still pull away with the series.
"I've said all along our greatest challenge is to have success overseas," Australia skipper Michael Clarke said. "To sit in the position we are at 1-1 going into the third Test against the number one team in the world in their own backyard is a great achievement. Now we've got an opportunity to win the series."
