How much should a guy earn before he starts dating a woman? A controversial topic (which could have been a very simple one in the old days) is now creating debates among Filipinos.

The video, posted on Tuesday, Jan. 2, quickly went viral as many netizens debated with one another. Others criticized the salary standards of the female interviewees, while some supported their fellow women.
But are their standards practical and achievable, or are they just too full of themselves? Here's what Filipinos say about this controversial topic.
How Much Should Guys Earn Before Dating Girls?
When Black Cookies Productions asked different ladies about their salary standards before dating men, many of them said they prefer guys earning 30,000 PHP to 50,000 PHP or more ($540 to $900) per month.
After hearing their answers, many Filipinos shared their opinions. Although most of the men's answers in the comment section said "Women *coffee cup emoji*" frequently nonsense, some guys took the topic seriously.
Some of them said that the answers of the female interviewees should be respected since that's their standard. They explained that men must deal with this kind of scenario, especially if they are courting women with high standards regarding monthly salaries.
On the other hand, other Filipinos explained that there shouldn't be a standard for salary, saying that what women should look for in men are their values since guys with great values usually end up with great careers, which leads to high salaries.
While others share respectful opinions, some Filipinos decided to personally attack these ladies, saying that they are just "gold diggers" who want to date a high-earning man just for their money so they can easily buy their wants, such as expensive clothes, eat at luxurious restaurants, etc.
However, some Filipino netizens and influencers shared deeper insights, explaining why the interview is a "trap" to make women look bad in other people's eyes.

Why I Find The Viral Interview a Trap
TPC Nga Pala, a popular Filipino podcaster known for his insightful content, talked about the latest viral video regarding men's salaries.
He explained that the interview was actually a trap since the only question asked by the interviewer was, "How much should a guy earn before he dates you."
TPC Nga Pala said that answering this question directly, without any explanation, will make you look like you're just into it for money. He added that the viral video really offended many guys in the Philippines, a country where the minimum wage is just a little over 500 PHP per day (around $10 each day).
The Filipino online influencer further stated that answering this trap question hurt a lot of Filipinos since it's like these women rejected them despite having strong values when, in fact, they were answering the interviewer, who didn't provide other questions.
What these ladies, who were just victims of a "trap" question for making a trending video, said was practical since the economic inflation in the Philippines is getting worse.
They are not looking for money but a person who can give them financial stability in a world where almost everything can drain their wallet.
Also, being a high-earning man shows his other attractive characteristics. Just as TPC Nga Pala explained, a Filipino who earns a lot of money is usually a skilled individual, committed to their work, and takes most of the things they have in life seriously.
