Hamas' Young Female Hostages Still Held Captured After 3 Months of Israel-Gaza Conflict; Who Are They?

Israeli citizens who were taken captive by Hamas have now been held hostage for over three months.

The heart-wrenching images of four kidnapped teenage girls, Liri Albag, Karina Ariev, Daniela Gilboa, and Agam Berger, paraded by Hamas gunmen, continue to haunt their parents three months after their abduction.

Negotiations for their release have stalled, and the parents, desperate and anguished, are now sharing these disturbing images with the world, urging immediate action.

The girls were abducted during the initial hours of the Hamas attack on October 7 from Nahal Oz near the Gaza border. They were left behind when the last ceasefire collapsed on November 30. The parents are now fearful that the mounting tensions after Israel's actions in Lebanon might lead to the girls being forgotten.

Details emerging from their captivity are harrowing, with reports of sexual abuse at gunpoint and amputations of limbs. Mothers and fathers worldwide are being implored to raise their voices in solidarity and demand the release of these innocent captives.

The parents are grappling with unimaginable pain, as expressed by Orly, Daniela's mother, who pleads, "Imagine if it was your daughter, your little girl in their hands." Eli, Liri's father, highlights the agonizing aspect of the situation, stating, "Think for one day that you don't have connection with your daughter, and you know they are in the hands of bad people."

Despite the horror stories and pleas from the families, the girls remain in captivity. The parents are supporting each other through this ordeal, sharing tears and conversations. Shira Albag, mother of Liri, emphasizes the mutual understanding among them.

However, reports from those who have been released paint a grim picture. Shlomi Berger, father of Agam, shares the anguish of hearing about sexual abuses, stating, "As a father, I can't imagine these things. The family's torn apart," as per Daily Mail.

Israel Claims Hamas Military Dismantling in Fourth Month

Sasha, Karina's sister, speaking on behalf of their mother Ira, describes the situation as "misery" and "helpless." The ordeal faced by the hostages, including the four girls, is a humanitarian crisis that demands urgent attention and intervention.

As the conflict in Gaza enters its fourth month, Israel announced the "dismantling" of Hamas's military leadership in northern Gaza. The ongoing war, triggered by a Hamas attack on Israel, has claimed numerous lives, displaced civilians, and resulted in a deepening humanitarian crisis.

The international community, represented by top diplomats like US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, is actively engaged in efforts to address the situation. Blinken, during his Middle East tour, expressed concerns about the potential escalation of the conflict along the Israel-Lebanon border.

The conflict has also drawn Hezbollah into the fray, with near-daily exchanges of fire with Israeli forces. The killing of a senior Hamas figure in a suspected Israeli strike in Beirut escalated tensions further, leading to rocket attacks from Hezbollah and Israeli strikes in response.

The plea for the release of the kidnapped girls echoes the urgent need for a resolution to the Gaza conflict and the prevention of further escalation in the region. As the international community grapples with diplomatic efforts, the cries of the parents serve as a stark reminder of the human cost of this prolonged conflict, according to Channel News Asia.
