Police found a shotgun beside his body at the scene.

TRIGGER WARNING: The following story may be distressing to some readers as it tackles topics such as suicide.

The fiancée of "All My Children" actor Alec Musser revealed that the late 50-year-old committed suicide via a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

People reported that the San Diego County Medical Examiner's Office also confirmed the cause of death after he was found dead at the scene at his Del Mar, California home beside a firearm police and Press identified as a shotgun.

However, the coroners did not provide any contributing conditions to Musser's death.

In a press release immediately after Musser's death, Press said she last saw him alive before she went to bed on January 12 and only found the body of her lifeless partner "slumped forward on the bathroom floor" the next morning.

"RIP to the love of my life," Press wrote in an Instagram story following the discovery. "I will never stop loving you. My heart is broken."
