Relatives of the hostages demand the government bring their loved ones home.

A group of relatives of Israelis still being held captive by Hamas stormed a parliamentary committee in Jerusalem on Monday (Jan. 22) to demand that the lawmakers do more to free their loved ones.

About 20 people attempted to hijack the proceedings, signaling growing domestic dissent from Israelis regarding the war in Gaza, Reuters reported.

Demonstrators have also been camping outside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's residence and the Knesset building, Israel's parliament, with some of them demanding a unilateral end to the war or an election that might topple Netanyahu's hard-right government.

Israelis Demand Netanyahu to Release Hostages

It was previously reported that Netanyahu rejected the proposal to end its war against Hamas, even with Washington's stance of promoting a two-state solution.

In response, Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri said that there would be "no chance" that the remaining hostages would be returned.

Meanwhile, the Hostages and Missing Persons Families Forum demanded that Netanyahu should "clearly state that [the country would] not abandon civilians, soldiers, and others kidnapped in the October debacle."

"If the prime minister decides to sacrifice the hostages, he should show leadership and honestly share his position with the Israeli public," the group said in a statement.
