The US state of New Hampshire has opened its polls to begin Tuesday's (Jan. 23) primary election.
According to the Associated Press, the primary was to determine who among Donald Trump and Nikki Haley would become the undisputed Republican candidate for the race to the White House.
On the other hand, Democrats only see the primary as bragging rights as President Joe Biden would not appear on the ballot since the contest violated the national party rules he pushed for, but supporters have mounted a write-in campaign on his behalf.
Polls would be open for the whole day, but would close by 20:00 Eastern Time (01:00 UTC, Jan. 24).

Haley Gets Sweep in Dixville Notch
At the stroke of midnight, all six registered voters of the resort town of Dixville Notch cast their ballots for Haley, making them the first place in the nation to vote in the 2024 primaries, a tradition the town held since 1960.
While the results were not typically indicative of how an election would end up, they provided an early curiosity as to how the primary would develop throughout the day.
Of the six voters, four were registered Republicans, and two were undeclared voters.
